Our Apartment in Paris.

Our Parisian pied-à-terre is situated in a vibrant, family-oriented, and multicultural neighborhood. Yann and his mother invested in the one-bedroom apartment back in the 80s. At that time, this part of Paris was relatively overlooked yet on the city limits. Yann stumbled upon it and persuaded his mom to make the purchase

About ten years ago we had it renovated from top to bottom, what an adventrue that was! I enjoyed every minute of it, drawing out the floor plan, designing the details -, bringing out the old beauty that the apartment had, and furnishing it.
Just across the street from our apartment, you’ll find the best bakeries in the area, boasting a beautiful painted glass ceiling from the late 1800s. On the other side, there’s a local café that has been a favorite hangout spot dating back to the early 1900s. Completing the block is an Italian restaurant, adding to the delightful mix.

The advantage of our location is not just its convenience but also the fact that it’s not overrun by tourists and big brand shops. It has retained the essence of old Paris, resembling a small village within the city. Within a mere five-minute walk, you can find everything essential: grocery shops, green grocers, a flower shop (yes, that is essential), restaurants, cafes, a bookstore, a cheese shop that will make your mouth water, a pharmacy, and hidden little parks. Not to mention, it’s a direct two metro stops away from my favorite flea market, Porte Vanves! In every way, this neighborhood allows you to soak in the rhythm of Parisian life.

Our apartment enabled my addiction to the brocante as we furnished it from top to bottom with finds from the brocante . It’s more than just a place; it’s our second home, a landing of comfort and familiarity when away from our homebase in Provence.

We also rent it out for a few weeks each year. If you’re interested, please let me know via email.

For once, Corey Amaro’s pictures of Art do not give you the FULL essence of your visit to her apartment. First, it is an experience; second, you do not get the sounds; you do not get the smell of the French Bakery across the street; you do observe the romance of people watching from your window with a cup of tea or wine! Right downstairs, the unique owners of the Russian restaurant have you drink vodka with them, and they share their stories. They make you feel like a community, not tourists!

It is the safest area, and close to everything! Let me win my imaginary contest in my head, and I will be there tomorrow!”

— Diana Johannesen

My husband and I spent two lovely weeks at Corey’s apartment. It is in a great location and certainly well-appointed. Corey and her husband are very generous hosts.

The apartment is beautifully glorious! You & Yann were so welcoming —    a doll house of an apartment.  Thank you again — memories of beauty everywhere!

— Ann Franke / St. Louis, MO

The apartment was much more than we expected. The only problem was we never wanted to leave. Oh, and that bed! An ideal place to let go and enjoy.

REVIEW / THE CURATED TRAVELER

OUR STAY IN A ROMANTIC PARISIAN APARTMENT

Every now and then the opportunity arises to experience something truly memorable while traveling. Our stay in this romantic Parisian apartment was just that. My blogger friend, Corey Amaro, and her French Husband, Yann, created the classic Parisian apartment, back in 2013, with their renovation of his long owned apartment. In this light-filled pied-à-terre, on Rue du Chateau in the 14th Arrondissement in Paris, you will find all the Parisian romance you are seeking.

With sparkling crystal chandeliers, vintage velvet couches, luxurious linens, time-worn books, a pastel collection of vintage plates, whimsical accents like a jaunty top hat, and a touch of animal print, the details of this apartment are charming. The skeleton wall, meticulously restored, is a nod to the early history of this charming space.
