Summer Song of Sunshine

cassis, corey amaro

The tale of the hottest summer that graced the sun-kissed lands of France,

perhaps I'm exaggerating just a tad, but it truly feels like I'm not.

As the scorching sun blazes its fiery path across the sky,

the colors blur and melt together in an unfocused swirl.

The sweltering heat has turned the South into an oven where even baguettes could burn!

A fleeting breeze gives hope for relief, only to pack up and leave.

The summer sky where the brilliant blues seamlessly blend into the sea,

and the lavender bows under the sun's intense kiss.

Yet, amid the hottest days, the shade of the old plantain trees offers a sanctuary.

And when I seek refreshment in the sea, the reflection of blues sings a delicious tune.

Gorgeous! Looks like a watercolor…I guess it is! Have you tried frying an egg on the sidewalk? My sister was able to do this in the summer when we lived in Wichita, Kansas.
