Shared Stories: Irene Farmer

After many years of penning this blog, I have come to know many of you and if you have been following me and reading the comments you probably know each other too.
During Christmas, many of you shared your home’s Christmas decor which gave us another glimpse of you. I enjoyed that so much that I want to continue putting forth ways for us to connect. If you have a personal story that you would want to share please send it to me at

  1. How lovely to have met the Queen. Her face does show kindness, caring, and a peaceful heart.

  2. Lovely post, Queen Elizabeth is remarkably beautiful. I have always loved her eyes.

  3. Anyone else here remember watching Elizabeth’s coronation on TV? Film of the entire ceremony was flown as quickly as possible across the Atlantic for broadcast in the U.S. I recall sitting on the couch beside my mother, and being a little kid thinking how long it all was.
One of the things that’s always struck me about QE II is that her dogs and horses never know she was queen — just their pet human — and they seemed to love her for herself and her kindness to them.

  4. What a beautiful posting.
I love all these guest postings and all of the photographs and words of wisdom.
    Blessings
What a privilege to meet the Queen.

I am very glad you’ve taken the time to share this marvelous experience with you us, Irene. Thank you!

  8. I always enjoy your blog and today was no exception. Love the story and the first two things that jumped in my head about the wire contraption were a stocking holder to dry stockings or a tomato stake! Craziness resides here! Thank you for your always unique and thought-provoking stories. Love seeing the grandchildren!

  9. What a lovely memory. I love the joy captured in the Queen’s face. ❤️
