Thankful for my Peace of Mind

The sun sends forth the last rays of light, as it pours through my kitchen window spreading across the kitchen table, the gift of light: The sun gives whether there are clouds, rain, or things in the way, then repeats the same gift the next day. Steadfast. Light for everyone and thing regardless who or where or what they are.

Contently, as I witness a simple gift of the moment.

And thankful that I have peace of mind to appreciate the moment when so many do not have.

  1. Continued worry over the California wildfires, especially the one not far from your family there, with so many residents still unaccounted for.
At least I’ve made (vegetarian) FRENCH Onion Soup for dinner on this brutally cold evening (with our first snowfall of the season forecast for overnight).

  2. I have a dear friend that always says “notice what you notice”. I try to do that often.
Looking at Kathie’s comment above I am also thinking of all those affected by the fires. My one friend that lost her home and her father’s home now has a vacation cottage to stay in for the next couple months until they can decide what they are going to do. I thought about what I could do to help and ended up sending a gift card from Target just to help them replenish basic items. A simple thing, but hopefully it will help a little.

  3. Saving this. Hits deeply in the heart.
