Dear Darling Frenchhusband,
Since you asked me what I want for Christmas, I am going to tell you exactly what I want. I would like you to make me a pot of tea once in awhile, and to bring it to me. Yes, that sounds simple, maybe not what you had in mind for a Christmas gift for me, but it is something I would enjoy very much. A simple pot of tea made with loose tea. I know it is tricky to measure tea, to put it in a tea bag, and then to tie the knot so the leaves do not go everywhere. Oh, but what pleasure it would be to wake up in the morning and have a hot pot of tea waiting for me just the way I like it!
Yes, that would be a delightful Christmas present, a pot of tea made by you darling without having to make it myself. Though Honey, making me a cup of tea doesn’t mean putting on the kettle, and then when the water is hot, yell….. "COREY, your tea is ready!"
The gift of tea that I would like is this: First add some hot water to the teapot, swirl it around and then dump it out. Then put the teabag (filled with three teaspoons of Marco Polo tea from Mariage et Freres,) into the teapot and add the boiling water. Without a doubt you will want to spoil me, and you can by putting a teacup and saucer with a teaspoon by its side. I do not take sugar, but I do take cream (serve, s’il te plait in a creamer…not in its plastic container!
Complicated maybe, but it would be such a pleasure to have a simple pot of tea made for me. That is what I want for Christmas.
Bises xxx, Corey
